At Behind the Moon Antiques step back in time to a bygone era that whispers softly of a world – from not so very long ago – where your life seemed a little less hectic and time moved a whole lot slower.
Many of you have inquired about our name: Behind the Moon. Where did it come from? Well, the cabin you see as part of our logo is a real place. It is a log cabin, about 10 miles north of Park Rapids, on Bad Axe Lake. When I was a little girl my family vacationed there every summer. My grandparents owned the cabin. It was nestled in 40 acres of the most pristine, dense forest I've ever known. They called the cabin: Behind the Moon! I'd like to think that my Grandpa and Grandma are very pleased to know that the family cabin - in a way - lives on through our little store here in downtown Waverly.
